Il segno del genio

Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raffaello...Cento capolavori da Oxford

dal 14/05/1991 al 14/09/1991

This exhibition was inaugurated by the President of the Republic Francesco Cossiga and Lord Roy Jenkins rector of the University of Oxford. For the first time in Italy is presented a wide selection of the collection of the Ashmolean Museum’s drawings, including works from different ras, from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century: from Leonardo, to Michelangelo, Raffaello, Tiziano, Canaletto. The exhibition has the purpose to trace the time before the artistic creativity, the act that has brought to the greatest masterpieces of history of art,the “sign” that distinguishes these great geniuses.  Very important are the studies for the frescoes of Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel. With “the sign of genius” continues the activity of the Fondazione Memmo at Palazzo Ruspoli, after the initial success of the exhibition about the Expressionism.
